This painting on corrugated cardboard has a captivating expressive force. The choice of the medium, an industrial and everyday material, already marks an intention: to break with convention and bring art closer to the raw, the tactile, the immediate.
The relief of the cardboard, with its horizontal lines, introduces a structure that contrasts with the free and gestural application of the paint. The central black, reminiscent of a stylized tree or an explosion, acts as a visual axis. Around it, the reds, oranges, and yellows seem to explode, as if they were flames or energy in motion. The thick paint adds volume, almost sculptural, making the painting feel more like an object than a flat image.
There is something visceral about this work. The use of warm colors and the way they are applied suggest emotional intensity, perhaps anger, passion, or transformation. Black can represent the unknown, the internal, or even that which resists. It is a piece that does not seek to please, but to provoke.
It could be interpreted as a metaphor for the conflict between order and chaos, between the structured (the cardboard) and the spontaneous (the painting). It could also speak to resilience: how something as fragile as cardboard can sustain an explosion of creative energy.
